Infectious Disease - California - Chief of the Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) within the Center for Infectious Disease
The California Department of Public Health is recruiting for a physician leader to be the chief of the Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) within the Center for Infectious Disease. DCDC is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and preventing more than 80 infectious diseases. These include common diseases such as COVID-19, vaccine preventable diseases such as measles, rare diseases such as botulism, vector borne diseases such as Lyme disease, and diseases possibly related to bioterrorism such as anthrax. DCDC is a highly collaborative organization that works closely with local health departments, other state agencies, and national public health partners. The ideal candidate for the DCDC chief position will be a physician with expertise in infectious disease prevention and control, experience working in a public health agency, skills in program management and leadership, experience as a medical epidemiologist, and strengths in collaboration and communication.

Director - Infection Prevention & Control – Southern California
Current Licensure as Registered Nurse or LVN in the State of California or CLS with microbiology certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration or Nursing (required); Master’s Degree in Public Health or Master’s Degree in Nursing or Degree in Medicine or equivalent (preferred). Five years’ experience in nursing and/or microbiology, in a direct/indirect patient care setting in an acute care hospital and training in Infection Control.
The essential functions included but not limited to developing, executing and overseeing Infection Control and Employee Health Services throughout the three (3) hospital license. Develops, plans and ensures annual employee health and pre-hire requirements are completed. Ensures that HAI, NHSN program and performance data are collected, validated, and reported in a timely and accurate manner. Conducts quarterly Infection Control Committee meetings in collaboration with Medical Director of ICC and all departments. Participates in other committee meetings as required.
